Ingredients

For the Double Crunch Shrimp

  • 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 1 cup (240 ml) buttermilk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt

For the Breading

  • 1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (60 g) cornstarch
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 egg + ¼ cup (60 ml) water, whisked for egg wash
  • Oil, for frying

For the Asian Zing Sauce

  • ½ cup (120 ml) sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) honey
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp (15 g) sriracha
  • 1 tbsp (14 g) butter
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced

For the Candied Yams 🍠

  • 3 large sweet potatoes, peeled & cubed (about 900 g / 2 lbs)
  • ½ cup (100 g) brown sugar
  • ¼ cup (57 g) butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Mac & Cheese 🧀

  • 2 cups (200 g) elbow macaroni
  • 2 tbsp (28 g) butter
  • 2 tbsp (16 g) flour
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk
  • 1 ½ cups (170 g) cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup (60 g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
