Directions

  1. Boil the Potatoes
    Place chopped potatoes in a pot of salted water and boil until just tender, about 8–10 minutes. Drain well.
  2. Cook the Ground Beef
    In a large skillet, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic over medium heat until the meat is browned and the onion is soft. Drain off excess fat.
  3. Season the Meat
    Sprinkle the cooked meat with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir to combine.
  4. Add Potatoes
    Add the boiled potatoes to the skillet with a little olive oil. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are lightly browned and slightly crispy.
  5. Add the Cheese
    Remove the skillet from the heat and fold in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and well combined with the meat and potatoes.
  6. Serve
    Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions or parsley if desired.
