- Prepare the creamy mixture: In a large bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and ¾ cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until smooth.
- Combine beef and hash browns: Add the cooked beef mixture and thawed hash browns to the creamy mixture. Stir until everything is evenly coated.
- Assemble the casserole: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 40–45 minutes, until bubbly and golden on top.
- Serve: Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving to allow it to set slightly.
