Soothing Ginger and Turmeric Hot Drink

Instructions

  1. Pour the water into a small saucepan and bring it to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced or grated ginger and fresh turmeric (or ground turmeric if using). Stir lightly to combine.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer gently for 10–15 minutes. The liquid should turn a warm golden color and become fragrant.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the drink into a mug using a fine mesh sieve.
  5. Add the lemon juice and stir well to brighten the flavor.
  6. Mix in honey if desired, stirring until fully dissolved.
  7. Add a pinch of black pepper and optional cinnamon for extra warmth and depth.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy immediately.
