Part 2: The Truth Revealed

Three months passed before I gathered the courage to confront him. One calm afternoon, I approached Sarah’s grave as the stranger sat in his usual place.

“Excuse me,” I said, voice steady. “I’m Sarah’s husband. May I ask who you are?”

The man slowly stood and turned. Up close, he was broad-shouldered and strong, but his eyes were red and tearful.

“I’m sorry,” he said quietly. “I didn’t mean to intrude. I just come here to say thank you.”

“Thank you?” I repeated, confused. “For what?”

Two days later, an anonymous donor paid the remaining forty thousand dollars, allowing Kaylee to continue treatment.

Months later, Mike discovered the donor’s identity: Sarah Patterson — my wife.
