Days later, the same situation repeated itself in a different form. A phone call. A hesitation. Another moment where a choice had to be made.
And once again, he hesitated.

When his mother showed up again, unannounced, I didn’t feel anger anymore. I felt certainty.
I realized I had been waiting to be chosen in my own marriage.
