Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the beef ribs with soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar or honey, and black pepper. Mix well until the ribs are evenly coated.
- Cover and let the ribs marinate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.
- Heat cooking oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
- Place the marinated beef ribs into the pan and sear them on all sides until lightly browned and aromatic.
- Pour in the water and reduce the heat to low.
- Cover the pan and let the ribs simmer gently for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Remove the lid and continue cooking until the sauce thickens and transforms into a glossy caramelized glaze coating the ribs.
- Once tender and sticky, remove from heat and garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
- Serve hot with steamed rice for the ultimate comfort meal.
