Directions

  1. Prep the shrimp: Pat shrimp dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat the pan: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat until melted and fragrant.
  3. Cook the shrimp: Add the shrimp to the pan in a single layer. Cook 2–3 minutes on one side until pink and slightly opaque. Flip and cook another 1–2 minutes until just done. Remove shrimp from pan and set aside.
  4. Make the garlic butter sauce: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium-low. Add remaining butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 30–60 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic. Add red pepper flakes if using.
  5. Combine shrimp and sauce: Return cooked shrimp to the pan. Toss to coat evenly with the garlic butter sauce. Drizzle lemon juice over the top and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
  6. Serve immediately: Plate the shrimp with your choice of rice, pasta, or bread. Garnish with additional lemon wedges if desired.
