Directions

  1. Cook the pasta: Prepare pasta according to package directions. Drain, rinse with cold water, and let cool completely.
  2. Make the dressing: In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  3. Layer the salad: In a clear glass bowl (for the best visual effect), layer the ingredients in this order: pasta (bottom), cherry tomatoes, cucumber, bell peppers, red onion, peas, and lettuce.
  4. Add dressing: Spread the creamy dressing evenly over the top, making sure it reaches the edges to seal the layers.
  5. Top it off: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon over the salad.
  6. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to let flavors meld.
  7. Serve: Toss lightly before serving, or scoop through the layers to maintain the colorful presentation.
