Directions

  1. Prepare the Boiling Liquid
In a large stockpot, combine water, Old Bay seasoning, paprika, cayenne, smashed garlic, lemon halves, and bay leaves. Bring to a rolling boil.
  2. Cook Potatoes and Corn
Add quartered potatoes to the boiling liquid first, and cook for 10 minutes. Add corn and sausage slices; cook another 5 minutes until potatoes are tender.
  3. Add the Seafood
Carefully add crab legs, shrimp, and mussels or clams. Cover and cook for 5–7 minutes, or until shrimp turn pink and shellfish open. Discard any unopened shellfish.
  4. Drain and Add Butter
Drain the boil and transfer to a large serving platter or a newspaper-lined table for a traditional presentation. Melt the butter and drizzle over the seafood mixture for extra richness.
  5. Serve
Sprinkle with extra seasoning if desired and serve immediately with lemon wedges for squeezing over the seafood.
