Part 1: The Whisper That Changed Everything

The airport terminal carried a mix of coffee, disinfectant, and quiet tension.

It was the kind of place where everything moved quickly—people rushing, announcements echoing, lights too bright to ignore. We stood near security, watching travelers pass by, each one wrapped in their own destination.

It should have been an ordinary evening. Just another business trip. Just another goodbye.

But something felt… off.

My husband, Quasi, stood beside me, composed as always. His suit was flawless, his posture confident, his presence controlled. To anyone watching, he looked like a man who had everything under control—a successful professional with a loving family.

Now, standing there in the airport, I realized I might have been wrong.

When I asked him what he meant, he whispered something that changed everything:

He had overheard his father talking earlier that day. Talking about something happening that night. Talking about being far away when it did.

That was the moment doubt turned into fear.

And fear turned into action.

“I believe you,” I said.
