My name is Grace. I’m 43 years old, and for most of my life, I believed I had built something unbreakable.

My husband Daniel and I spent fifteen years creating a life together. It wasn’t perfect, but it was real—two children, a home full of everyday chaos, and routines that felt comforting. School mornings, shared meals, quiet evenings. It was simple, but it meant everything to me.

Then Daniel’s health began to decline.

At first, it seemed like stress. He was always tired, often falling asleep early, complaining of headaches and exhaustion. We told ourselves it was temporary.

Until the diagnosis changed everything.

His kidneys were failing.

The doctor explained the situation clearly: without treatment, his condition would worsen quickly. Dialysis was one option—but a transplant offered a better long-term outcome.

I didn’t hesitate.

Looking back, I understand those words differently.

The surgery was difficult, and recovery took time. But eventually, we both healed. Daniel regained his strength. Life slowly returned to normal.
