Part 1: Rethinking Social Norms and Friendship

In many societies, having a large circle of friends is often seen as a sign of social success. People tend to associate popularity with happiness and assume that those with fewer friends are somehow lacking socially. However, this perception does not always reflect reality. For many women, having a small social circle is not a limitation but a conscious and meaningful choice.

Some women naturally prefer a quieter and more selective social life. They are not drawn to large gatherings or constant social interaction, especially when those interactions feel superficial. Rather than engaging in conversations that lack depth or purpose, they seek meaningful connections that align with their values and personalities.

This approach often leads to fewer friendships, but the relationships they do build are rooted in trust, understanding, and authenticity. Instead of spreading their energy across many connections, they invest deeply in a select few. As a result, their friendships tend to be more stable, supportive, and emotionally fulfilling.

Ultimately, being socially selective does not mean being socially unsuccessful. It simply reflects a different, more intentional way of building relationships—one that prioritizes quality over quantity.
