The Wedding Dress That Held a Family Secret
1. A Promise Made Years Ago
Catherine was raised by her beloved grandmother, Rose, after losing her mother at a very young age. Growing up, Catherine believed that her father had abandoned her before she was born, a painful truth her grandmother rarely spoke about.
When Catherine turned eighteen, Grandma Rose showed her something deeply meaningful—her 60-year-old wedding dress. Under the soft porch light, she asked Catherine to promise that one day she would wear the dress at her own wedding and alter it herself.
Years later, after Catherine got engaged to her fiancé Tyler, she planned to keep that promise. Sadly, before the wedding preparations were finished, Grandma Rose passed away peacefully in her sleep, leaving Catherine devastated but determined to honor her wish.
