Part 1: A Mysterious Meeting in the Wilderness
She was sitting beneath a fallen tree, exhausted and covered in dust, her clothes torn from days of travel. Her face revealed both youth and deep fear, as if she had lived through more than someone her age ever should. When she noticed Elias approaching, she instinctively tried to move away, holding onto what little sense of safety she had left.
“Please… don’t come closer,” she said weakly.
Elias stopped immediately, raising his hands to show he meant no harm. His voice was calm and steady as he explained that she was injured and needed help. At first, she resisted, her fear stronger than her trust. But something in his tone made her hesitate.
Her name was Mave Tucker.
Carefully, Elias helped clean her wound. As he did, he noticed a mark on her skin—one that clearly hadn’t happened by accident. It was a symbol of control from a past she was trying to escape. Mave quickly tried to hide it, overwhelmed with shame, expecting judgment.
But Elias didn’t judge her.
Instead, he understood that whatever she had gone through was far bigger than what she could explain in that moment.
